how to cook a fried egg.

i am NOT a chef.  at all.  i do pretty well in the kitchen, without really knowing what i'm doing!  all i do know i have learned off of FoodNetwork or our favorite show TopChef.

  it really blows my mind watching those amazing chefs go to town! ahhhmazing!

  so, today i tried my hand at a fried egg. and i was pretty excited that it turned out quite well! Tom Colicchio would be proud!

so everyone back home has snow, we got icey rain. and i thought Ft.O was bad about over exaggerating in-climate weather, Charleston has y'all beat. EVERYTHING shut down today, including all the bridges around here. and everyone was encouraged to stay inside! hilarious. just for some cold rain.
but i did as i was told, i stayed inside! me and the boys laid in bed allll day. they are such good cuddle puppies.  Greg even got to leave work early and come 'home' to nap!  Speaking of home...we get to move into our new house FRIDAY! woohoo. a month of living in a hotel will make you crazy! i am so excited!

it is cold and gloomy outside today.  it is january and i know most of you are walking around bundled up from head to toe in layers upon layers. being a (new) resident of charleston sc, i have become accustomed to the warmth. the other day i was comfortably walking around outside in shorts, a t shirt and my chacos. it was awesome! and so by cold i mean it's 54 degrees. and apparently it has been un-seasonably cold here. however it is still chilly, and muddy since it rained allllll day yesterday. so the puppies and i are inside. again.
watching terrible day time television and spending countless hours wasting time on the inter web.

not sleeping.

as of late i haven't been sleeping (during regular hours) much, at all. my mind is allll ovvvver the place. i believe it is a combination of stress, anxiety, excitement and laziness all rolled into one, that is keeping my brain from shutting of at preferred hours.
but the past few days, my lack of business hours sleep has been because i am decorating in my head! and styling a photo shoot i have coming up this weekend with a lovely newly engaged couple.
so i guess i should be glad! atleast they are happy never ending thoughts!

i have been decorating out new house in my head. and have come up with a lot of DIY projects for myself! i am really excited about going to the thrift stores and discovering how to bring something back to life with a little paint and glue and a nail or 2. 
we have an old dresser(that was originally supposed to stay in Lexington with my sister, so she could give it a new life, but the movers packed it. what a shame)that i am gonna re do and put in one of the guest rooms. I'm thinking this room will be shabby chic. and i want the dresser to kinda look like this...well, as i google shabby chic dresser to find an image to put here, i have changed my mind.  i don't think i will be able to handle a shabby chic room. lol. i am a very clean lines kinda person and the chipped, scuffed, worn paint that gives the furniture its character, will, however, make me crazy. so, with that being said, i think just a fresh coat of black paint and some new knobs will suffice! maybe this or this or this or this. and i would LOVE for this bed to be apart of my modern/shabby chic bedroom! i think it is lovely. i just discovered the anthropologie website last night whilst not sleeping. and it is awesome!

laundry day.

today is laundry day for us.  and it is making me miss our washer and dryer! i never thought i would miss em, but i do.  this hotel charges $2 to wash and $2 to dry. outrageous if you ask me. i may have to go take out a loan to finish washing our clothes today!

but thankfully we dont have to stay in this closet sized excuse for a hotel room for much longer!

its starting to get to me. and my poor puppies. they need to run around! they are driving me crazy! they just got baths last night so i didn't want to take them to the dog park today, maybe wednesday. they smell so good and are soft, i want to delay the stinky dog smell as long as possible! lol 

speaking of puppies...Oliver is losing his baby teeth! i just thought he had a busted lip(he and Brody play rough sometimes) when i saw the blood but upon closer inspection, he had lost a tooth! i had no idea dogs lost their baby teeth! but why wouldn't they, if you think about it. he has lost one of the bottom fangs, and the other side is loose so i suspect it to be gone soon. 

it appears that laundry day has turned into random rambling blog entry day.

focus (not my car)

i have always thought i had potential. but i also think i am a Jane of All Trades, so it is hard for me to focus on one thing sometimes.  call it adhd if you must. lol.  but since leaving NGCSU i have felt lost.  not that i was on the super straight and narrow track to my future while enrolled!  but really lost since i moved back home.  i think i felt a huge void. i couldn't play softball anymore and i didn't know what to do with myself. that was how i defined who i was. it was hard for me. and still is some days.

who do i want to be when i grow up? 

that is the million dollar question.

and it is a much harder decision to make once you are the one paying for it too!

but thankfully i have an awesome support system.  Greg is the best. and will support whatever hair brained idea i have. and my family is great too. it is just a matter of focusing. and just getting it done!

dog lovers

i am a dog lover. big time. greg calls me the dog whisperer. lol

i do not understand how people DO NOT like dogs, especially mine. they are so sweet.and happy and cuddly.

so it really does blow my mind that people are annoyed by doggies.

i am a firm believer that animals can "smell" the good in people. so i'm just gonna go out of a limb and say if you don't like dogs, ESPECIALLY mine, well then maybe we shouldn't be friends. for serious. they are warning me of your evil ways! :)
